It was all for the money. The breathtaking views, the green rolling hills, it was no wonder once Zach, a rancher and skilled carpenter, came up with the idea of a bed-and-breakfast for weddings he was constantly booked. He provided the location for some of the best storybook weddings. What he didn’t except was for his booming business to be the backdrop of where he lost his heart. Kira wasn’t interested in love. Wanting to be the bride, but always the bridesmaid, she wore her past attempts at love heavy on her shoulders. Beautiful and guarded, she has a warmth and tenacity about her that Zach can’t resist. Maybe this love crap isn’t for the birds. Now, on a new mission to get a slice of heaven of his own, Zach has only two weeks to impress Kira or risk losing his chance at love.
Grayson had been patiently waiting for this day to come. For the last six years he has hungered for Georgian, the savior of his clan and the woman that would become his Queen. “So, what’s the mission?” Inquired Levi with a loud sigh. Colin smiled. He handed him a black folder. “It’s simple. You need you to watch the girl in the file…get close to her, and bring her to us,” answered Colin. “You want me to kidnap her. Why? Did she see something, or you want to drink her blood?” Grumbled Levi while he flipped through the file. The fact that the woman in question was a stunning African American wasn’t lost on him. He pulled out a picture that had been taken at a great distance with a high powered camera. The woman had her head tossed back in laughter. Her natural hair was being swept by the wind. The sunlight was hitting it just right to bring out the natural brown tint within the thick locks. Levi didn’t like the fact that they still hadn’t answered his question about the woman. “Is she human?” he pressed. “To a point, yes,” answered Colin. “Then why do you want her?” Levi asked again, this time a bit more firmly. “Because,” smiled Grayson as he scooped up the same photo Levi had just been admiring a few seconds earlier. “She’s going to become my wife.” He bit his bottom lip and moaned. “And I can’t wait.” 27-year-old Georgian had no clue that as she struggled to keep herself together after the loss of both her mother, and later grandmother, the pale blue eyes of the Vampire King had been watching her with a deep desire that now, no longer would be denied.
“Okay,” I mumble as I sit the boxes aside. “What do you want, Cooper?" I ask, shocking him. I watch as he babbles a bit before gaining control. “Well, um…if you willing to give me-“ “I didn’t say I’m giving you crap. I just wanna know what the hell you’re working up to?” “All I am working on is beating you.” I scoff loudly. “Well, you’ll be working overtime to get no pay because I’m taking home the win, again,” I stress. “What’s it gonna be?” I pause for effect, “Third year in the row?” I tease, rubbing salt in the wound. “You haven’t crossed the finish line yet,” he smirks. “I would be getting closer if you would stay out of my face so I can work,” I finish with a nice-nasty smile. “So, that offer of..., nevermind,” he says as he takes note of my hard gaze. Bitter rivals since high school, Cooper and Felisa have been going head to head in business, and the annual Christmas Festival for years. It never fails for things to get out of hand whenever the two are in close quarters. Things only get worse when to save their sinking companies, a business merger is proposed. Being in each other’s face on a daily only serves to increase the opportunities for comical moments, fights that get the town talking and taking bets, and strokes the flames of a sizzling romance that’s been years in the making.
